Our Approach
Different from traditional Inpatient Treatment or Hospitalization
Our At Home Detox Program offers a relatively inexpensive alternative to traditional hospital based Detox programs.
At the "At Home Detox" run by The Ocean Rehab, we provide personalized one on one Detox by Dr. Savitch in South Florida based on protocols developed by years of experience Detoxing thousands of clients successfully.
The plan:
- The client is given an assessment to determine eligibility for the program. It should be noted that only 4 out of every 10 persons who request this program meet eligibility criteria.
- An individualized program is formulated based on the specific needs of the client.
- The individualized treatment plan is initiated in the comfort of the client's home. Many clients are able to continue to maintain their usual work, school or family schedule while going through the detox process.
- After the program is completed the client is encouraged to seek further Recovery by attending meetings, getting a sponsor, seeking therapy, medication management for any underlying psychiatric condition and participating in other Recovery related activities.
The philosophy:
Dr. Savitch understands that every person has a unique medical and family history, social situation and individual health goals that require an individualized treatment plan. Group Detox is not for everyone. The idea of bearing one's soul to a bunch of strangers while withdrawing from substance dependency is not particularly appealing. Many people do not Detox or seek Rehab for fear of discovery or because of their need for privacy and anonymity.
Treating just one patient at a time can be a long tedious process. But the outcome more than justifies the effort.
Note that we do NOT prescribe suboxone or subutex. We work strictly with the client's own medication (including benzodiazipine for alcohol withdrawal). We also prescibe medications and use OTC meds as well to help ease the discomfort associated with withdrawal.
IN A NUTSHELL (summary):
At home Detox for dependency on prescription drugs and/ or alcohol is available to persons meeting strict criteria.
This program has been set up for those individuals who need anonymity and privacy during the Detox process.
The client will be visited by Dr. Joel Savitch 1 to 3 times daily for medical assessment and counseling and monitoring of medications for from 4 to 10 days. Lab work may be required. Privacy and anonymity are assured.
It is IMPORTANT to note that Detox alone is NOT a substitute for the Recovery process. Detox without follow up is a waste of time and resources.
Detox is accomplished with the use of the client's prescription medications and the use of non narcotic prescriptions and supplemented by OTC medications.
The average cost of this program is between $1000 and $2000 plus prescription costs.
